The CBS Special Presentation Logo: Remastered Version

Whenever I think of this bumper, I think of the 1971 “the cat in the cat” special, to the point where I half-expect the raindrop sounds from that special to fall any second after it. I am a gen z guy, yet I remember this logo very well from my childhood vhs of the ‘71 cat in the hat, where it followed the 1995 Paramount logo. I remember as a toddler rewinding this bumper because it fascinated my Autistic ass with its music and abstract colours, much to my parents amusement (likely bc they were kids when this special came out). I was lucky to own the 2000 paramount vhs as a child, not only due to how rare it was, but the fact it’s the only version out there to use it’s original broadcast master.

Needless to say, when I got the Seuss celebration DVD, both me AND my parents alike were pissed off when the 1997 Universal logo plastered this bumper, since my parents also grew up seeing this bumper prior to the cat in the hat as children, and also watched all of Friz Freleng’s Dr. Seuss specials when they originally came out. My dad actually even complained about the lack of usage on this bumper on Peanuts tapes, since Paramount also once distributed those. My parents may have thought of this as the “Charlie brown” logo (they straight up told me so, and avid wiki even nicknames it that). This gen z’er, however, will forever see it as “the 71’ cat in the hat logo”.

This was a part of my girlhood days. I also remember them from when each Lynda Carter special was bound to air.

On special nights, me and my family would gather with popcorn and sippy cups and wait for either Garfield or Charlie Brown.

Man this takes me back! Used to love this as a kid....as an adult I still do. I miss the good ol days of television.😌💕

Very exciting to see this as a kid in the '80s. Charlie Brown Garfield and other things. I think only once I saw this and something came on it sucked but otherwise this is cool

Perfect memories

Goosebumps! It's crazy. I'm 53, but the excitement seeing this gave me as a kid in the 70s is so BURNED INTO MY BRAIN that it triggers those emotions now with Pavlovian inevitability.

The folks at CBS need to bring this back I love it when I was a baby
