Sony TV - How to troubleshoot a red or blinking light

Sony brand loyal for decades.... Bought 4 sony TVs when I purchased our new home. A 65, 75, 75, and an 85 inch. The 85 inch suddenly will not turn on. Called Sony and the gist of the conversation was SORRY! it has been 2 years and 3 months, you are out of warranty and out of luck! No offered course of action, no nothing. I own a company that builds custom home theaters and media rooms and will 100% NEVER advise a customer to buy a SONY again. ever. The 85 inch was $2800.00 UNREAL!

Do NOT buy a Sony Bravia. It’s the worst TV I have ever purchased. It regularly stops working. The power will not come on but the red light blinks. We spend 15 minutes getting it up and going again - plus all the logins- and it is happening every two days !
We have issues with screen mirroring cutting out regularly. And we cannot connect via Bluetooth. The TV is only six months old.

6 red LED BLINKS....NO PICTURE....even after hard reset....Sony official repair would say it's a panel problem..not worth to repair...But
Than Try...replacing backlight strips...Bec it is a Backlight LED Strip problem...one set backlight LED strips is about $20...difficulty is Average..careful removal and recording of all screws etc to replace exactly the same way is important...Also best to replace the whole set of LED strips..don't do onlybthe Spoilt ones...bec they work in synchronization...any small voltage difference can cause a shutdown..
Use youtube videos that show how to do it as a guide...takes about 2 hours to get to the strips..if untrained...make sure the TV is switched off ...for more than 24 hours...and press switch on when unpugged to discharge as muchbas possible....and don't touch the capacitor..HIGH VOLTAGE SHOCK danger!!!

Personally, I’ll never buy another Sony product. I bought my Sony Bravia less than 2 years ago and it has flashing red lights on the bottom, overheats, and will not turn on. I followed all your advice, and nothing. 😞 Also called Sony, they were less than helpful

I have an XBR that shuts off and blinks red 4 times. I grounded the BL_ERR circuit and it works fine now. I really with Sony provided more info for advanced users on what causes the problem and how to troubleshoot. I found that disconnecting power to the LD board (which controls backlight) should tell me the LD board is bad, yet the TV still shuts off. With all cables connected, It wasn't until I removed the cables going from the main board to the TCON board that the TV finally stayed on. This would indicate an issue with the TCON board, however the 4 blinks points to backlight issue. Plus, the TV works absolutely fine with the BL_ERR circuit grounded, which tells me that the LD and TCON boards are functioning normally. I did notice that the 12V power wires going to the TCON board from the power suppply board are showing 0V.. but then how is the TCON board getting power? I can't figure out whether the problem really is the LD, or if it's the TCON, mainboard, or power supply board. Again, I wish Sony provided troubleshooting assistance for people are aren't afraid to use a multimeter.

It really worked for me in mintutes.. i can see my favorite programs... 🤗 🥳🥳 .. but if change any system settings like picture mode or sound mode or any system default settings, it is going into same stage.... Automatic turn on and off for 3 or more times and going to leed blinking state.. so i am using system default settings .. is there any hardware troubleshooting , soldering of wires to avoid this problem completely

What q mess how come the expensive company can do big mistake like this tv keeps restarting and the reason is our home is not clean so the motherboard get shorted due to motherboard cacked with dust
