When I was 5 years old I never appreciated this opening scene before whatever I was about to watch (most likely Conan the Barbarian, Commando, The Karate Kid, or Krull), but now that I'm 47 I realize just how epic growing up in the 80's actually was.

I was born in '82 but i still remember this from back then, i always loved the anticipation and looking forward to watching something that i wasn't supposed to see with my two older brothers and my parents never knowing about it, ahh pure nostalgia which is something i believe we need more of these days, long live the 80's!!!

After browsing your HBO guide you'd turn the TV to channel 3, reach between the rabbit ears to the box on the back and flip the switch.
Back then each house had a roof antenna specifically for HBO. Late 70s to mid 80s.

You always knew who had HBO by that antenna on their roof.

When my dad got HBO he said it was the best day of his life. I can remember us standing two feet in front of our television watching this. will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.
