Any help with 10 flashing red led’s on KDL-40W5100? We had a quick power outage(5-10 sec.) and “poof!” Out it went! Did all the simple fixes and hard re-start with no luck. Did the unplug of T-con,nope! Took out main power board and it look like it’s been lightly scorched or hot. Main Logic board looks fine all capacitors look fine and my volt tester leads are too big to get between wire and socket clips to get any reading. Any help with this from anybody would be awesome. And can’t find that board number to get new one at all. Am I screwed on this one?

I have the Sony KDL-55EX720. It will come on for about a second or so, then it shuts off and the light blinks red 4 times and repeats over and over. Any ideas? Nothing about 4 blinks on your chart at the beginning of the video. Thanks!

I have a Sony Bravia LCD Digital KDL-46V25L1 has a dark back lite, it turns off in 20 min,
Has 4 red lites blinking , would you know what is wrong with the tv are you close by.

Hi there. I wonder if you can help me. I have a Sony 46S2010. The standby led flashes twice. Everything i read states a bad power supply board. I got replacement one on ebay and still has the same issue. Just just tried your t-con test and i have the same problem.

What can i do to test if the power supply is good? There are three connectors besides the mains. Can i remove one connector at a time to see if there is something wrong down stream of the power supply?

Hi Paul ! Been a big fan for years and now I have an issue or maybe 2...
12 year old Sony KDL55EX720 with amazing picture. Not a smart TV but I love this set.
This morning I was getting ALTERNATING red and green flashing lights. Same thing happened about a year ago. Sometimes the green light would stay on longer and prodiced a picture but only for
a few minutes. an hour later I tried to bypass the tcon board, but because it was configured differently, I was not absolutely sure I was disconnecting the same wires as you. In addition the heat sink was more like a shield design and board was at bottom of of chassis.

So, when I disconnected the 2 wire connectors the set just acted the same as before.

I reassembled and powered it up again. Red and green lights alternating but stayed green long enough for me to attempt factory reset. Now red stays on much longer than green but continues to alternate.
Green comes on with picture and displays initial setup protocol.
Wierd thing is when I press the right side button on remote to select language, picture immediately shuts down and red light comes on. It will stay red with no picture, then if I press power green comes back on with select language set up. It will remain that way until I press right or select.

So the problem has morphed from an ongoing alternating blink to an inability to stay green with picture when the remote seems to steal its life force!
My Dad was a TV tech since learning electronics in the Air Force in 1959 and eventually owning his own shop. He's a big fan of yours and I sure would like to call him and let him know how you helped me figure this one out.
