(CC) (HD) A step-by-step repair video, showing the replacement of swollen/shorted "electrolytic capacitors" in my Samsung LCD TV. "Sped up" sequences show relevant information to YOU, while at the same time having detail. My Samsung TV would not turn on. It would just make a continuous clicking sound until I unplugged it.UPDATE : As of now (June 17th 2017, almost 3 years after this video was made) this tv in the video is still working perfectly! My TV is a Samsung 46" 120 hz LCD.Model # LN46A650A1FXZCThe power supply electrolytic capacitors that were blown up in mine were 10 volt 1000 microfarad (blown)25 volt 1000 microfarad (possibly ok)I purchased all 4 capacitors at "Sayal Electronics" for $3 TOTAL cost!Warning! This video shows a procedure that could expose the user to high voltage circuitry! Please do NOT attempt this unless YOU are confident in your ability to work with electronic circuits that can produce high voltages! You have been warned. Never use the shorting method with a screwdriver to zero the charge on high-voltage capacitors. That will damage the capacitor from the inside. Instead, use a 100W filament-type bulb and connect the two leads of the bulb to the two leads of the capacitor so it will get discharged by absorbing the stored energy by the bulb.

On my 32' Samsung the red light would blink, but eventually the TV would turn on and work without an issues. I have replaced the backlight after it have failed and I hoped the blinking would go away, but it remain. All caps look okay.

Thank you so much for this video! Our Samsung TV that we bought in 2008 suddenly stopped switching on, flashing the red light like you showed. Took it apart and the inside of my TV was exactly the same as yours and the same 2 capacitors had blown! Replaced them as per your instructions for a very small nominal amount and the TV is working perfectly again. Again, thank you so much as I wasn't willing to spend hundreds of £££'s buying a new one. 👍

I spoke to a technician, he said blown out capacitors were a common problem 5 years ago, now it's most likely an LED backlight problem, which is costlier and harder to repair.

No normal person can do any of this. Don’t waist time on this video. This guy obviously does this for a living

Very good video, the explanation of what the procedure was that you did was detailed but simple! Going to try this with my TV that seems to have the issue!

The video title talks about a flashing light but that doesn't seem to be addressed in the video at all. ??? Nice video though, sans the flashing light part.

I got a bit lost at 2:29 with the capacitor. Was just looking for a simple solution on YouTube, now I’m not too sure how to put it back together now. Dads gonna be pissed.

Great informational video, mine had the same issue I thought it was the power supply itself.

I still wear Rubber gloves doing all this. As a 12 yo kid I took a peek behind the picture tube of an old TV resulting In Me seeing the music and hearing the colors >.<
