It makes me cringe, almost in disbelief when I hear that the likes of Boeing are being left to police themselves when if comes to safety standards.

It reminds me of a story I heard many years ago, when priests and cardinals were being alleged to have sexually abused children in their care, this was a report being investigated in Scotland and I remember hearing a statement on the BBC'S Reporting Scotland one evening and the news correspondent was saying that the Catholic Church wished to be left to deal with the issues internally.

Well, I knew fine and well exactly what that meant - in otherwords, hush the story up and hope that the issue goes away - don't for one second expect any real kind of justice.

To be brutally honest, the ignorance and arrogance beggars belief.

I don't understand why people say this aged well. The 737 MAX is a result of hasty engineering, I agree, but the 787 itself is an incredible aircraft with an impeccable safety record.

They lie thru their teeth- I will never fly on that model.

I helped build the first 200 of 787! I worked on the tail section never seen one of these batteries thank goodness😳, but any crashes I check if I worked on it😢
