I feel like Black Ice sounding similar to Black Guys is flying under the radar.

The genius of the sketch is that they use the trope "characters acting like something they're really not. Like, they look like racists, but they were actually talking about ice, but no, at the end, the twist is that, yes, they were talking about black guys.

“WELL, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, BROTHER DARREN.”

Just so anyone's curious, btw, black ice isn't actually black. It's a very transparent ice, and it gets its name because you can see the road beneath it.

plot twist: you actually live in the twin cities and have had run-ins with black ice before.

I think a lot of people don't fully understand the joke behind this sketch. It's a play on words. "Black ice" sounds like "black guys". So, whenever "black ice" is mentioned, Key's and Peele's characters interpret what the anchors are saying as being directed towards "black guys", after the black ice cube graphic is shown. You should also be able to understand and appreciate that "balance" pun when you keep this context in mind.
